Connect D70 to a TV set to view Close ups??

I'm new to close up work and have a question. I have a Nikon D70 and would like to connect it to a small TV to view my products. Can I leave the TV connected to the D70 while I'm taking pictures so I can view each shoot or do I have to disconnect the EG-D100 cable before each shoot?
