I have not owned a Panasonic camera. I am looking for a low light camera more than anything. Something I can take pictures in low light settings without flash. Which of these is better or good on its own based on your experience? Thanks alot!

Take a look at the reviews on this site where Jeff shoots at the different ISO levels. They look pretty similar, with a slight edge to the FZ55. Not a big enough difference to choose one over the other IMO.

Thank you for the reply. Are either of these camera's known for their low light ability at reasonable ISO (400)? I know Fuji's are known for it but I have become disenchanted with that brand. Thanks.

No, neither of these models are great at low light. Really, only the Fujis with the SuperCCD stand out from the pack.
