Dear All

Inspired by Paul's Thanksgiving well wishes earlier (& I hope our US friends had a great day with family and friends on the day! :)) I wish all Fujinians, & of course everyone conversing in Forum land, whether Canonist, Nikonian, Pentaxian and others, all the very best over the festive season!

Whatever festival you celebrate at this time of year, may that festival be a source of inspiration, meaning and a joyful celebration of life for you!

I'll be lighting candles tonight (Tuesday 4DEC2007, 24KISLEV5768), however if the 25th is a special day for you, I wish you all the best on that day and into the new year.

Thanks, Benjamin, same to you, and I hope to see pictures of your festivities! Especially the food, candles, etc :)

Only about 18 more days till Yule, when we can celebrate the return of the light even in the longest night of the year! (Although for you, this would be the summer solstice, Midsummer's Day.)

Hi Tori

Happy Winter's Solstice for the 22nd &/or Yuletide for the 25th, I guess if southern hemisphere folk have a longest day, the flip side is that northern hemisphere folk will have a longest night at this time of year and vice versa in six months, we all being on the same globe! ;):):D

Here is a photo from the eighth (& last night/day of Chanukah)

(Not a great photo, given that the lit chanukiah must be placed in the window, so not much chance to control the photo background etc, & given that I overexposed my first chanukiah shot at +1EV, I took this one at -2EV, f3.5, 1/3sec, in Aperture priority mode).

Sorry no food photos, too busy eating...lol;), on the other hand not much to see really, the favourite foods during this festival are potato latkes (pancakes) and sofganiot (jam donuts), basically anything containing oil or that is fried in oil...who said kosher cooking is healthy? lol :D

PS: I also wish our Moslem friends a good Eidul Adha at this time of year as well.

cheers,
