S6000fd aperture question

This may be a dumb question, but why can't I adjust my aperture below 3.6? I had it in manual mode with the lens as far in as possible.

You need to hold down the +/- EV button and use the selector wheel (up / down)then you can set it from f2.8 - f11 I believe.

I believe that's what I was doing. Whatever I was doing to adjust it I was able to scan thru many different apertures but couldn't get up to 2.8.

I don't have it with me now to verifiy though.

If the lens is truly at it's widest setting, the aperture is adjustable from f2.8 to f11 as Paul stated.

F/2.8 can be reached only at widest.
