just a general question about mp and print sizes...

am i right in understanding that if i am just making 4x6 prints a 2mp is perfectly fine?

howver if id like to make prints at 8x10 and have room for cropping i should get atleast a 5mp?

and to get prints at 5x7 and to be able to crop i should be looking at a 4mp?

thanks...Get more mp if you need to crop any to make a good 8x10. What was your question? :o

You can make good 8x10's from 3 megapixels and up. More pixels = more room for cropping. You can even do 8x10's from 2 megapixels if you have the right image, but not every photo will work.

well id like to make good qualtiy prints at 8x10 and be able to crop. not sure if i can do that with a 4 mp or if i should get a 5 mp. im trying to decided between the canon a85 and a95. its about a 100 price difference.
