nikon d80 accessories

i just got this camera w/ a nikon 18-55 and 55-200m vr lens and also a 4 gb 133x memory card

what else do people highly recommend getting for it?

hi there,
congrats on the d80! you have the same lenses as me, i added a 50mm f1.8 prime lens, inexpensive and its my most used lens. also get a good backpack to hold everything, and i just got some accessories this week, i got a tripod a flash (i got the sb600) wireless shutter release and a rocket blower (to clean dust from sensor)

aside from that i guess it depends what you plan on using the camera for :)

I added more memory, an extra battery, UV filters to protect the lenses and a camera bag. If you plan to keep adding to your addiction (I mean hobby) get a camera bag you can put more stuff in than you have now. I made the mistake of buying one that is too small and now I am in the market for a new one...

My 2 favorite purchases have been the MB-D80 battery grip and the SB-800 flash. IMO the grip makes the camera more comfortable, not to mention the vertical shutter release is priceless to me. I use the SB-800 off camera fired by the wireless commander all the time. It really allows you to be much more creative with your lighting.

A circular polarizer if you want your landscape photos to have nice, true-color skies.

Well a camera bag and a rocket blower are nice to have. I would only buy things you have a need for, not things other people like. Everyone has different needs because we all shoot different subjects.

hi there, yes that is true but his question was what do people highly recommend... "what else do people highly recommend getting for it?" so he can take all the information and decide what things he might find useful.

Right now - a bag that holds everything, another card, another battery, mini tripod, rocket blower. Then...more lenses, a bigger bag to hold everything, a bag to hold 1/2 of everything (when travelling light). A flash could be handy, and rechargeables for that. Another lens. How about a big tripod? Another bag to hold everything. Eclipse cleaning system. A remote release. Another lens.

Where do you want to stop?
