I am interested in printing onsite at sports events, and wonder if there is such a thing as a 4 x 6 printer that runs on DC power?

The Canon Selphy CP 510 is one that has an optional battery. I have the lesser CP 400 that (for $50 on sale) is great for little prints.

Most printers have external transformers. Many have DC output from those transformers. It's just a case of putting a battery in place of the transformers. If you're technically capable, inside the other printers it's a case of putting DC power into the correct side of the bridge rectifier.

An alternative for the less technically capable is to plug an inverter into your car cigarette lighter socket and run the printer off 110v.

Wonder if there's just a step down transformer in the box that plugs in the wall, or if there's room for a full wave bridge rectifier too. That totally would clean up the AC into DC the printer needs, or if the rectifier is in the printer body like you said.
