We purchased some Xti cameras for students at a community college.

1. Can someone recommend some good lenses for the camera? I do not even know what it is I should be looking for when I says "lenses." I am not a photographer, and unfortunately, we do not have anyone currently on staff who is. The cameras will be used for a class next semester. I am thinking of telephoto lenses, wide angle lenses and anything else you could recommend that would be used in developing a future series of photo courses. I have no idea what this should cost, though spending $1,000-$2,000 a lens should not be a problem.

2. Can the lenses purchased by also used with other Canon DSLRs?

Thanks!!

If you're willing to spend that much go for "L" series lenses, they have image stabilization, good apertures, the best glass canon offers, and are sealed watertight. Browse L lenses for the focal length and aperture you want. In my opinion, all the L's are pretty amazing :)
