These were taken with a Tamron 1.4X TC attatched

The lens is sharper & has better bokeh than my non IS version
The AF is much faster
The IS rocks, much better DOF control handheld, keeper rate goes up
Works much better with the 1.4X TC,AF is hardly affected, lessmarked degradation in sharpness

The view finder image getting stabilised is really nice, helps MF much easier
C&C as always, welcome :)

Beautiful shots Drama. Mine hasn't arrived yet but the tracking tool shows that it should be here today or tomorrow. Keep the pictures coming!

It really was a good decision.

Remember: Buy great glass ... it'll do your photography good.

LOL :D

I like the branches (the photo that disappeared?) and the spider photo a lot. The moon? uhmm... just a boring moon. The reflection... the framing is not right, needs more space at the bottom. And the black and white one does nothing to me...

But the branches that disappeared and the spider are shots i would have want to make.

As usual, appreciate your candid feedback

The moon is a personal weakness of mine, love to shoot it
I deleted the branches shot, will pu it up again

First of all, I should confess that I'm starting to dislike you more and more as you keep adding all these goody stuff to your kitty:D:D

Of these shots, I love 2 & 3 most. The 1st Moon shot seems a little over sharpened by my taste though.

Now, for the moon shots do u use AF or manual focus?

I'm asking coz, I came across this video on youtube, where they use the Live view screen of the 40D to precision manual focus on the moon with 10x magnification, and get amazing focus clarity...

I guess you could give this a try and post a result here.. for us to see the difference..:)

Enjoy your gear, you bad man:p

On the good stuff, my 40D gave me a few error 99's today
So a bit worried :(

I love the new lens though :D
