Right now I'm a satisfied owner of a Canon 400D clicking away at any given oppurtunity provided to me but there are still some situations where I can't use my Canon. For such situations I borrow my sisters Sony W90 but its not available to me everyday.

So I came to a conclusion that I need a compact camera to carry around all the time. That "go anywhere camera" used to be a Sony Ericsson K750 but its spoilt now and I'm stuck with a iMate smartphone 2 with a crappy VGA camera.

Now the question of confusion comes, do I buy a good mobile with a decent camera (3.2mp or similar) or do I buy a cheap camera (5mp or similar) along with a cheap mobile.

Taking option 1 here...

A mobile with a 3.2mp camera for example a SE K810i would cost me about $300. Its a decent camera with useless video ability. The advantage would be the oppurtunity of having a two-in-one device which makes it easier to carry around and I'll never forget my mobile so I'd have a camera with me all the time. Plus its waaaaay simpler for me to take a picture for example while driving as the mobile will always me close to hand.

Looking at the option 2....

A crappy mobile with a maybe VGA or 1.3mp camera. Maybe some old SE that might cost me about $150-200.
A 5mp camera with/without IS for about $100-200. This way I might end up spending a little more than option A but I think I can stretch it.
Advantages would be better quality picture plus a waaay better video capability. Downside would be carrying 2 devices around, the camera would not be close at hand all the time.

Note: in option 2, the cheaper the camera the better cause I dont want to spend tooo much.

I've seen some older generation sony and panasonic camera's that fit the bill. I'd mostly pair them with a SE w200i (VGA camera).

So what do I do....????

Note: this is a thought in my brain, I would need to forward this to the greater powers in my household like before and keep in mind the currency issues. A $100 camera in the US usually cost $10-50 more here...

Thanks all... :)
Cheers.

Sorry for the loooooooong post....

The Canon Powershot A560 is available online for $130. You can't do better for the price.
