I plan to carry around my Canon SLR camera around a lot.

What do you guys use to carry your cameras around?

Is there a type of bag that is highly favored for carrying slr cameras around?

thanks

I have the LowePro Slingshot 100AW...I like it a lot. It's nice to be able to "sling" the bag around for quick access...Didn't want to go too big...right now I only have one lens and should be able to fit one more...

In addition to the camera and lens I carry an extra battery, the charger, 2 CF cards, cables, & lens hood.

It's also got a waterproof "hood" that tucks away neatly while not in use...

There's a nice thread here, (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30518&highlight=lowepro+slingshot+woman) and I think a couple more threads if you look around here on DCRP.

I have the Lowepro Slingshot 200 and it's just right for my DSLR and lenses, with room to grow.

Here are my bags.

I'm using that old ratty gray bag a lot lately. I can carry my 20D, 580 EX, 35mm 1.4 mounted on camera, 85mm 1.8 (in front pouch), and all the batteries and memory cards I need for a night on the town. It's great for not drawing attention to my self.

I use the big red bag if I need to bring all my gear and the black bag if I need to bring a few more things then my gray bag will let me.

I own the Slingshot 300AW that fits my 70-200 (mounted) amongst other lens. The only regret from this, is that it gets quite tiring to carry around. Especially because there is only one shoulder strap.

I suggest a back-pack instead

Right now I have one of the Canon backpack camera bags. One of the straps broke after only a few months. It will be getting replaced with a Domke F-1 or F-4 pretty soon (I'll probably buy both of them, but not sure which one will be first).

i have Slingshot 100 but wish i bought a proper backpack. 1) a signle strap is not comfortable enough for me. i hate that small axiliary belt i must fasten to keep the bag from rotating. 2) Sing 100 is a tad small if you happen to have smth bigger than kit lens and is way too small if you want your 70-200 to go with you. 3) for me backpack would fit more comfortably and on the go i prefer toploads. yet i use my Sin100Aw for storing equipment in my car boot.

Just last week I outgrew my small bag... So now I dug out a old silver hardcase from the closet. Working great so far, normally just toss it in the car, and if I need to walk to get a better vantage point, just throw the strap on the camera with lens mounted...can see the need for a backpack soon, one that can hold a tripod will be nice.

I use the canon backpack; but it is a bit much when I'm going on a day trip. So after a bit a research I added the Lowepro Off Trail 2. It's a belt pack that holds the xti with a battery pack and the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens (the main pack can also hold a lens hood if not attached). There are two removeable side packs for extra lenses/supplies.

It's great for the zoo or hiking. I usually carry the above in the main compartment and in the internal pouch I have an extra memory card and 2 batteries. I use one of the side compartments for the EF 28-135mm and the other for my car keys and wallet

I have several bags. I have a backpack that doesn't hold a whole lot that I use for out-and-about. I have a shoulder bag that holds a little more that I use for my planned shooting. I plan to get a Pelican 1500 for plane travel.

A Tamrac sling bag is both convenient and can hold a long lens (70-200 f/2.8L), a couple shorts ones and a 580EX external flash.

With only one wide loop sholder strap, in a second or two, it goes from back to front use... and you can retreive you rig like one big belly pocket. :)

I tried the Tamrac Velocity series along with the Lowepro Slingshot series. I liked the layout of the Velocity better (and by the way, the strap goes over your left shoulder -- the Slingshot goes over your right.)

But the Velocity is built for MEN. I'm a woman, and it did NOT fit. I went with the Slingshot, and it works :) (see pics in the thread I posted above)
