Hi all, I was hoping I could get some good advice on what camera to purchase please!

Budget
I'm not really too fussed about budget but somewhere in the region of £250-350 would be best.

Size
Again, not too fussed but I don't really want the bulk that an SLR brings.

Features

8+ megapixels
10x+ optical zoom
Image quality is quite important, particularly for zooming. Image stability is important too.
I want a camera that's basically a 'point and shoot' type and easy to use, but I also wouldn't mind the opportunity to take good close-range pics or action shots occasionally
.

General Usage

My camera will mostly be used for when I'm on my travels - so mostly architectural/landscape and people shots. Quite a few of them will be low light photos as I tend to take a lot of photos in the evenings!
I generally don't make big prints of my photos.

Miscellaneous
I have been recommended the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 and DMC FZ50 as well as the Canon Powershot S5IS. I currently have an old Olympus (couldn't tell you which one now but it's 4.0mp and 3.0 optical zoom!) which served well but doesn't take the greatest of shots. Anyway, this means that I have a few XD cards and 2 batteries lying around so it may be more feasible for me to get another Olympus, although I *DO* like the looks of the Canons and Panasonics that I've seen.

I would really appreciate some advice - thanks! :)

Canon S5 sounds good and the SX100 is a smaller, newer one. Since you have xD cards the Olympus SP560 may be good, also. What type are the 2 batteries you have lying around? AA's?

Thanks bascom. No, the batteries are lithium: http://www.mailorderbatteries.com/camera_batteries/camera_pages/olympus_li10b_camera_batteries.html

I guess it doesn't really matter re: the batteries as they're not going to fit in all Olympus cameras anyway...
