I see you've got the kit lens; some of my favorite shots were taken with that lens. My advice....pick up a 50mm f/1.8 for $70; best bang for the buck in the Canon line-up. I used the kit lens and the 50mm f/1.8 for almost a year before purchasing another lens. Using these two lenses you will learn what you want and need in terms of future lenses.

ya thats my next plan to get a nifty fifty :D might require another five months of trolling on POTN lol But my sister wants me to be back up photographer for her wedding in February :O so i gotta get learning! lol

Any recomendations on a good backpack btw? fairly large sized one? thanks!

I noticed that the 20D's power switch has three locking positions? one for on and one for off? whats the third for?

The middle position is On, but, thumb wheel is not active. You need it on the top position to activate the thumb wheel.
