I know the FZ20 has a bigger and stabilized zoom. But the sony is full with option and had a 1.1.8 lens like the pana, and 7 megapixel. Both are quite cheap now and can be a good christmas present. Usage is for all around pictures. So which one does take the best picture?

Can you still get a new FZ20 or V3? Both are from 2004...

I love my FZ20 and it was good for its time but comparing to modern Panasonic or any modern camera for that matter, it's simply too restricted for good light usage. Its image at ISO400 is rubbish. Its dumb flash means you have to do a lot of guess work if you are to use the external flash.

I don't know much about V3 but its image quality is better hands down. I think it has better external flash system too. V3 has RAW capability while FZ20 has no RAW.

IMO, if you want a camera for all round use, V3 definitely has the edge.

Yep. I even saw the kodak P880 in some shop . What about this one? The sony v3 is it similar to the canon G7? If yes I go to pick it right away...

What prices can you get those for? Did you check the FZ20 and V3 reviews here? That may help you. The V3 review says "The Canon PowerShot G6 shares much in common with the V3: Seven Megapixel CCD, 4X zoom, hot shoe, manual controls, support for lens accessories." Then at the end it says "How does the V3 compare to the PowerShot G6? They perform quite similarly in most areas..."

You just bought the SX100. Isn't that enough for now?

I wouldn't consider it if it wasn't for his price. 100$usd for the V3. it's seems to me a good bargain to get an antiquity...

I see you have a long zoom Canon SX100. If the camera is for yourself then V3 will be more useful.
