My cousin lives in the Vancouver, BC area and she asked that I photograph her wedding. So I made a week long trip out of it and hit all the areas of the pacific northwest that I have always wanted to visit. It was a lot of fun and I will definitly be going up there again. Here are a few of my favorite pictures, and as usuall the rest can be seen here (http://www.chrisross.smugmug.com/gallery/3756885#P-1-15)

Wow, Chris, as usual your shots are incredible! Sunrise in Seattle belongs on your wall.

On your site, I loved the portraits of the families, especially the "running" series. And the wedding! #45 is very memorable. A few times I wished for the shots to be in color, especially of the ceremony -- although the woodwork in the church made for very stunning B&Ws. A couple of the bride shots at the beginning, with the lacy texture added, didn't work for me -- maybe the texture was too prominent. I kept trying to figure out why that lace was there on her arm, neck, etc. I like the idea, though. And great X3 size option for viewing pics!

Have you ever been to Olympic National Park? I went there pre-D50 ... my disposable cam pics were often completely black :( but it is an amazing place. I will definitely go back there, with my DSLR!!

Thanks for the nice remarks Tori. Regarding the wedding of my cousin- the chapel had some weird lighting (stained glass windwos, weird flourescent lighting, and natural light) as hard as I tried to get the white balance right, it just didnt look good, so BW seemed to work best. I am trying out some new stuff with merging images in CS3. The lacy texture was a close up shot of the brides wedding dress, but I agree with you, I think it came out a little to strong.

I was trying to talk my friends in Seattle to take me to Olympic NP for the few days I was up in Seattle but they really felt that Mt. Ranier would be the best bet with the rainy weather. I have seen pictures of second beach and wanted to go there, but everyone keeps telling me that Oregon has the best beaches for photography. Next August I am planning a trip up there.

I look forward to seeing more of your work on Flickr.

Wow, sounds like a great trip. I love seeing pictures of the crashing ocean waves with either very short or long shutter speed. It will be great to see yours.

As a local (greater Seattle) let me contribute a shot of the Space Needle. This is one of the first shots I took (a month ago) when I got my Nikon D40.
