Im thinking of buying the Fujifilm S700 as my first "real camera" Im wondering if this will do what I am looking for. Im moving to the west coast of Canada to snowboard. I am going to be using it to photograph snowboarding and just everyday living. But I want QUALITY photographs. I would really enjoy to put a fisheye lens on it but im worried that im going to have to drop alot of money on an expensive fish lens to get good quality. I dont need anything too high tech but I am looking for somthing that will give a detailed picture. Price is also a big issue, ive been looking on ebay for lens' that are compatible with this camera and their are a few for around $50, which is what im looking to spend. Will this lens do me the trick do you think? And also I would be interested in external flash, but this camera does not have the mount for it... Are there alternatives and if so please help me out. Thanks alot, Chris

Also does everyone think ill be happy with this camera as my choice? Again my budget it tight. :P

There is a wide angle and telephoto lens which screw on the front of the fixed lens of the S700. Check through the pictures here and get an idea of the picture quality.

Are you sure you want such a big camera to keep track of while you're snowboarding? There are wide angle adapters for the S700, and it's really an excellent camera (especially for the money) but it's certainly not pocketable, even in a jacket. I'm not trying to discourage you in any way, just asking if you're really willing to deal with the size of it.

Yes, that was a concern of mine aswell, but I think I can deal with the size. Im going to go the Future Shop tomorrow to look and see if it will be realistic, before i just go and order one. Thanks alot for your concern. :)

EDIT- Also will that lens still give the photograph that sharp and detailed look still? That is what is attracting me to a camera of this type.
