I have a Canon SD400 and last night my lcd broke. There are no visible cracks on the outside of the lcd, but when I turn it on, it looks cracked. Has anyone herereplaced the lcd on a camera before? And does anyone know if this is covered under the Best Buy service plan? (I know visible physical damage is not, but I wasn't sure about this situation.)
Hey, It is really easy to replace... i am usally know for braking things... but i could even do it! i did it on a Sd600 a few months ago you call canon service center and request a new LCD ~$50 and then search SD 600 craked LCD or something along those lines on google and theres a great toutorial!

after doing some searching I have found this has been a common problem. Has anyone else had this problem as well?

I've seen it on a lot of cameras that have been dropped, and it's exactly what you describe (the plastic being fine but looking shattered when you turn it on). I've never seen it just happen for no reason, so I don't know if best buy would cover it or not. You could try asking them.
