Anyone have any experience taking them? Ive been called on again to take pictures at a club for my brothers party. I went online to check out what the place looks like and from the looks of their gallery flash is very allowed. Would it be best to bounce my SB600 off the ceiling or diffuse it and shoot direct? My goal is to still be able to pick up some ambient light in the background and because the walls are not white the bounce wouldnt spread too much on any given power setting would it?

I would bounce it. That way, the light you add will look very natural, especially if you keep your whitebalence on the warm side.

To get the most out of the ambient light, shoot at the widest aperture that will give the DOF you want, use ISO1600, and use a slow shutterspeed - about 1/50s. That should let in quite some ambient lighting. Then the flash will brighten your subject and get rid of any subject blur in the picture.
