I saw that. Something else Olympus have produced that fits perfectly with the FZ50, and will be market as such. I don't really think it's worth the investment for an ultrazoom though.

I had a battery pack for the FZ cameras that needed a wire to run into the compartment door and quit using it for that very reason.....it not a good idea..also I did not see in the ad but I guess a wire neeeds to run for the shutter also.....IMHO next to worthless.

I don't know.
In any case, it's a great idea to run off "AA" battery power as opposed to the Panasonic proprietary battery.

IMHO.... that is incorrect
Proprietary batteries are far and away the better choice, they provide a constant power that cameras need to function correctly......well perhaps the new Lithium AA's would work but that would be expensive.
AA batteries, IMHO, are neither cheaper of more convenient.
The use of AA batteries is a real turn off for me.
See how we all differ?

I've got to agree with genece, I hate having to use AA batteries, and much prefer the proprietary rechargeables. Just one of those things we have to agree to disagree over.
