Card speed Vs. Camera write speed

I've hesitated to buy "Uber" speed cards (SD & Compact flash).
I discovered yesterday that no matter how fast the card can write, the cameras (at least mine) can only write at their own maximum:

e.g.: Card write = 60, camera write = 36.

Is there a workaround?

Unfortunately not that I know of. If there was, I'd be straight in there, my camera writes so incredibly slowly. <_<

No work around...most P/S cameras are in that write speed range with DSLR's being faster. The reason for a faster card will be evident during downloads to a computer.

A workaround to what? Cameras can only write as fast as they are designed to write, you can't change that.

Which is why card readers are your friend when your transforming pictures :D . Honesty the write speed may not be as fast as the card but it should be fast enough to not get in anyones way.

It's my understanding that the cards themselves cannot write at any speed. I think you can only write to them.
