hi, this is my first post here

I got a fuji 5700 a week ago, and I'm wondering if I need some sort of adapter if I want to purchase a UV filter.

It looks line a good one so far.. I haven't taken it out of the house yet but I've taken some shots for ebay and they're pretty sharp and show up a lit more detail than my older cam

The lens diameter is 46mm for your S5700. If you get the same filter size you are good to go. Personally I bought a 46 to 49mm step up ring so I can use all my filters from my old Pentax. By the way if you get a polarizing filter you need a circular one. A linear one doesnt seem to work.

Thanks, I've ordered the correct size so I'm please I don't need anything else.

I'm used to tiny point and shoot jobbies so this is a step into proper pics for me! I've been reading about colour filters etc. so when I've had a play around, maybe I'll look at what else I might want. Thanks for the polarizing tip :)
