Hi,
I just bought a DMC-FZ18 and when I tilt the camera from left to right I feel like the lenses inside are moving slightly. I don't know if it is a problem of the camera or if it is normal. Is there someone who has also a FZ18, can tell me if it has the same on his/her camera?

Thanks a lot!

(Sorry for my english...) :)

While I do not have a FZ18 I do own several other FZ cameras and they all have that movement, which I believe is part of the IS mechanisum....a couple of my FZs have over 30,000 snaps so I believe you are safe.

I'd tend to agree - the IS system works by slightly adjusting the lens elements. Hence, they do have a bit of movement in them. However if it sounds somewhat more serious, it might be something else. Probably normal though.

Thanks for your feedback. I feel better now...

One point also is that the movement of the lenses is more present when the camera is off. When it is on, I feel almost nothing.

Hi,

It's normal: when the FZ is on, the MEGA OIS lenses are maintained by a magnetic field adapting their position depending on the signal coming from the gyro sensors analysing your movements. When the FZ is off, they are just free to move a bit.
