Took advantage of the 6' minimum focus on the 70-200vr:rolleyes:

Lunch time shots, Not usually much interesting in the middle of the day but i did stumble across this little guy, well not so little. He was not real cooperative about me suggesting poses so I did the best I could.

I want that lens. Even though I don't shoot telephoto (don't even own one right now), I still want the damn thing.

Ugh.

Off-topic: I was out your way on 301 a couple weeks ago on the way up to Long Island, NY.

Working in Alexandria this Friday, at least I will be in your state.

301 to NY seems long way around but, if you are ever making a trip to B&H let me know:D they sell this lens!

Ha! That's right down the road from where I work, and up the road from where I live.

301 is a longer way, but we started in Fredericksburg, VA and took the 301 bridge, etc.. We also skipped 95 (until Delaware) and the capital beltway, so it was worth it :)

I'd have loved to go to B&H, but would have came back in debt to my eyeballs probably, so we didn't go. We also drive right by Cameta's area.

Soccer season is fast approaching. If you don't send that lens for evaluation soon you are going to have to pay express freight to get it here on time. :)

But since there is a sale currently ongoing at B&H, you may have saved a few bucks. "Codes" good until November 1.

Looks I'll be shooting at least one of the UNLV soccer games come November. ;)

Nice pictures Rich. Good job on the focus and DOF-control. It's a shame these animals don't have the decency of posing for a picture anymore.

Richard, if you return the lens to Rich, be sure to send it along the Netherlands. Then when I return it to Rich, his lens will have travelled around the world :).

That's a great idea. You could spend a couple of months evaluating it as well to confirm whether my results are scientifically valid of if they have been somehow skewed because of southern hemisphere magnetic influences.
Of course if you got different results from me you would have to send the lens back here so I could re confirm the accuracy of mine and then return it to you for further verification.

Thanks Dennis,
That Richard has been after that lens for a while now. If he had his hands on it, I doubt it would ever make it to the Netherlands.

Then send it to me first :D
No really, I have an excellent manual focus, manual metering and zooming with your feet prime and a pair of shaky hands to get the job done. What on earth would I need a 70-200 f/2.8 VR for?? I promise I'll send it to Australia.. I really will...
