Panasonic DMC-LZ2 digital camera

My camera will not take pictures. I've checked the batteries and replaced them. I download photos that were on the camera no luck. Any idea? I'm trying to decided whether or not to have the unit repaired? Any thoughts?:

One thought. If your camera allows you to reset to the original default settings, try that. It may be possible that a setting is causing you the problem.
