I've been shopping around, today, on the Internet ... and noticed that the suggested prices have dropped like $30 on the new releases.
The SONY A700 is down from $1399 to $1369
The Canon EOS 40D is down from $1249 to $1219
What gives? Price reduction day? If I had known, I'd have waited. YEAH, RIGHT! :D I really need a glass-price reduction day ... now, that'd be worth something.
Just seems kind of curious ... with no announced reason. I'm not complaining ... if they wanted to give them away for free, I'd still use them. But, then again, where's that "free" EOS 1Ds MKIII? LOL

That's just the storm before the calm... right. LOL
One of the reasons I did notice is because the surrounding borders of this website post prices found on the equipment. I had earlier been on a local retailer's website and found the prices had done the same thing ... in the same amount.
What kind of marketing control are we dealing with, here? (The Twilight Zone song begins to play)

Okay ... the EOS 40D is now at $1199 ... a full $50 down, in less than a week.
Someone needs to sell cameras, I guess.
This is getting strange.
i think it's fantastic ! one reason i suppose is that the d300 is getting closer to availability so sony/ canon are taking advantage of their cheaper price and trying to sell as many units as posible b4 the d300 becomes "mainstream".
bring on the PRICE WAR !!!
:D:D
What gives? Uhhh...it's called the "Holiday Season". A lot of people here on Earth seem to want to buy (or plan to buy) a lot of stuff starting around now. So companies lower prices to try to capture something called "wallet share". You should have learned this by now during your visit to our planet (don't worry, your secret is safe with me). ;):D

I believe that is because most places include rebates--which are included in the final price. No need for mailing it off.
