hi,

went thru some previous posts and reviews. will purchase first digital camera. my investment is the $150 - $225 range. i need the macro for ebay photos. from what i have read the a75 and a80 seems to fit the need plus an overall favorable all around camera. it has been mentioned to get the a80.

i have never owned a "good" camera before but i am a big fan of manual focus on the ones i have used and on camcorders. so, some advanced features would be a necesity.

would there be any other camera's anyone could recommend that i could review again.

thank you,
tony m

You might look into how the Canon's manual focus works. I don't think it works in the typical fashion we are used to.

You couldn't fault the Canon's, but I didn't see the A80 in your price range. At any rate, you might consider looking at the Nikon Coolpix line. Nikon's are generally regarded as having very good macro - certainly some of the best macro shots I've seen were done w/Nikon's. The 3200 has specs similar to the A75, and can be found for about the same price. The downside to the Nikon is that it doesn't have aperture or shutter priority modes.
