I shot this photograph of my Gibson F-9 mandolin for a photography class project. Shot with the D80 and 50mm @ f/9.0. Exposure was 1/60th and ISO 100. SB-800 fired camera left about 5ft away via commander mode with a shoot through umbrella in front of it.

fantastic shot. looks a little too dark on my monitor, maybe could use a bit of brightening up ?

I like the shot but I'm with Rooz, I think it could be a bit brighter. Maybe so the neck is not lost in the background.:cool:

I made a slight exposure adjustment and reposted. You're right, it does look better with some more light.

Yes, better. Now you have some white in the reflection on the corners instead of grey. I think you need to show white in every exposure, even one with so much black. ;)
