Ok, Im going to go to the Monday night football game of the Jags vs. the Colts...our seats are 4 rows up from the field, so Im sure I could get some pretty decent shots of players and so forth. Anyone know if Id be able to carry my D40 with a kit lens into the stadium? Not sure the legalities of that and so forth, even though Im just taking pictures for my enjoyment.

Yes but 6" extended or not?
Good question...plus is the guy at the gate going to try and say 6" total including the body, even though that isnt what the site says. Starting to think it may not be even worth trying, would hate to have to walk all the way back to the car and all that jazz again without my friends.

Hide the longest lens in someone else's bag or purse. ;) Worked for me.
Put the body cap on and keep it's profile small.
Personally, I just would not even bother going.

mitch the lense you got now isnt 6"
I say have one of your friends hide it in a bag or a cargo pocket or some thing
and those are damn good seats.

LOL...yeah, maybe ill just wear some cargo shorts and do it that way. Thanks for the suggestions all.
I couldn't find a cartoon :(
Burly security guard looks intently at bulging cargo shorts and asks:
"is that a lens in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me".
