Anyone else interested in this camera?
I've been researching it for a while, and I just picked one up recently. I'm not totally blown away...I wish it was a little more "ultra-compact", and I wish the light sensitivity was better. But I'll stick with and see if it grows on me.
So I'm starting this thread in hope of sharing reviews, tips and tricks, sample pictures, etc.
Here's a good start - the review posted here at DCresource:

Let us know if it does grow on you.......seems to me to be a prime example of camera makers loosing all sense of reality. 12mp in a compact camera.

This website has links to a couple other reviews, and to the User Manual:

It has an incorrect link to the ephotozine review, it should be:

I'm giving some thought to picking this up as my new compact as well. I have a Canon SD300 and a G7 currently. The 16:9 movie mode is one of the biggest reasons, even though I wasn't blown away by the review sample. Any updates on living with this camera?

Eh...still not blown away. It gives good results in bright light or with the flash, but so do most compacts. I was hoping for better light sensitivity than my 3 year old Canon S2, but I guess I need to step up to a DSLR for that. Movies don't look great...except the 1280x720 mode does have possibilities...15 fps doesn't look as jerky as I thought it would.
I compared it with a friend's Canon SD800, and they're the same size, so I'm okay with the compactness now.
Here's a few test pics, you can download the originals and check out the exif data: http://public.fotki.com/bigrig/fx100-test-shots/

Here's another guys impression and sample photos -

The TZ3 doesn't look that much bigger....it would be tempting to get the 10x zoom. Other people have the same impressions on video - 16:9 30fps is too compressed...16:9 15fps looks sharp but a little jerky.
