O.K then,
If you read my "Help!" post and saw my dilema with my Sigma lens.
My question now is: what lens would you suggest for shooting this wedding, in a traditionally dark Catholic church? and what flash SB600?

good idea to post these specific gear questions in the nikon forums cos you may get better responses from nikon users who may not browe here.
the sb600 is fine for flash. sb800 is better of course, but sb600 is good enuf.
the lens is entirely dependent on your budget. the nikkor 50mm f1.8 is considered almost essential for indoor lowlight photography cos of its wide aperture and its nice range for portraits. its also very cheap at around $100.
for a general lens the 18-50 f2.8 sigma or tamron 17-50mm f2.8 are very good choices. there is also the 17-70mm sigma and tamron 28-75mm that are also good options with fast apertures.
1st photo is with 50mm f1.8, the next 2 with sigma 18-50mm f2.8 with sb600 in a church setting. the last one with sigma 18-50mm and multiple remote flashes.

WOW! those are awesome pixs...And what I like to see..CRISP!
BTW what software do you use to make part of the pix color and the rest B&W? I love that effect!
capture NX software. i found it easiest to use for selective colouring. photoshop can do it aswell but its not quite as easy/ fast to apply localised changes. both the sigma and the nikon are very sharp in the centre, especially at f4 and smaller.

Do you use capture NX for all your editing?
I was thinking of getting photoshop lightroomany pro/cons to this ware?
alot of it is personal preference. LR is very good but i rarely use it. i use NX for almost all photo editing and photoshop CS3 if i need to clone out something, add a border etc
trials are available for both software for you to download and see which one you prefer.

Check with the priest that you are allowed to use flash, unless you are just talking about after the ceremony, in which case you should be just fine.

My thoughts exactly.
