Hello all-

I bought a F45fd in Ft. Worth a few months ago from Ritz Camera. It's great and have no problems with it. However, I recently tried to take some extreme close-up pictures of a watch and no matter what I did, I could not get a shot that was focused. I was taking the shots from perhaps 4 inches above the watch dial and even with trying different lighting, I have no idea how to set the camera for such a close-up. Admittedly, my camera skills are amatuer at best. Can anyone chime in and help me on getting the proper settings for close-ups? Does this camera allow such close-ups? I was trying macro setting, both with and without the flash.

Thanks!

The camera has a "macro" mode for getting very close to your subject. Check your user manual for details on how to put the camera in that mode. It's usually a picture of a flower or something similar. Once in that mode, move the camera to the widest angle zoom setting (ie, don't zoom in on the subject) and move the camera close to the object.

I did try the macro (flower) but I think I was trying to zoom in as close as possible. It never occured to me to macro, zoom out, and then move in. I will try that later at home and post what happens.

Thanks for the help!
