I just bought a new PowershotS3 on Ebay because of it's benchmark reviews I brought it out of the box and shot some movie clips. The video is ok but the sound keeps cutting out. I would guess this is a faulty camera. Is there any adjustments Possible or try another card. The joys of buying online!

As in it's skipping, or it's completely cutting out for several seconds at the time? Because the video format Canon uses is pretty ridiculously large in file size, and a lot of computers (and some SD cards) can't keep up. Are you playing the videos back on the camera, or downloading it to your PC and playing from there?

I think you have a good point as the video also seems in slow motion and has video pauses also. People move like zombies. The sound is broken with short breakups every couple of seconds, not long paused and the voice is correct speeb but mostly not in sync with the zombies that are talking. We switched cards so I will give you more info as it comes in . I do know their card works well in their camera and mine does not. So it hopefully is the card. Their are also some blue vertical lines in the video occasionally. I have played the card in my computers card reader

I figured it out .I must copy the avi file from the card to the Computer, then the file plays fine, so it is not the camera. Just that the file can not be read fast enough directly off the card. Still don't know about the vertical thin green lines . Seems to happen indoors with a light sourse around like a lamp in the scene

Those are reflections from inside the lens. It's not going to go away, you have to be careful about shooting directly at a bright light source in an otherwise darker scene.
