View Full Version : F10 Date/Time Battery?

I have a Fujifilm Finepix F10. Overall camera works fine, however more and more often we are having to enter the date when turning on the camera - I suspect that this camera has a "watch" battery that tracks time and date and probably other settings. Its only about 2 years old so it seems rather premature that this battery is going - but I guess that is besides the point.

My questions:
1. Is this assumption true?
2. Is this battery replaceable for someone with moderate electronics skills or does it need to be serviced by manufacturer to be fixed?
3. Anyone know specs or model on battery so I can order the parts?

Thanks in advance!

Dave I hate to say it but I haven't heard of a separate battery but now that you say that I would almost have to assume that one is there because I don't loose settings when my main battery is out. Plus it does have a little circuit board so a cmos type battery would make sense. Good luck, a quick google didn't yield anything useful.

Paul,

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just need to buy that super secret triangle screwdriver to open it up and find out. I don't see any other choice - sending it in to be serviced would cost more than a new camera!

I'll let you all know of my results if/when I do it.

Sounds good Dave, and good luck! Please do post the results as I would be interested in knowing what you found out.
