Hey all.
I have a Rebel which takes the Canon BP-511 battery. I ordered a back-up battery and got the BP-511A. Does anyone know what the difference is between the batteries? I have an older Canon that used the BP511 with a BP511 A Back up. They were both purchased about 4 years ago. The BP 511 can still take about 400 pic, while the 511A only takes 50 before the bat dies. Anyone know what the scoop is on the A?
Thanks.

The BP-511A has about ~25% more capacity then the old BP-511. Allowing you to take more pictures.

Thats it ;)

If you're only getting 50 shots the battery is probably bad. Send it back if you can. You can get some good prices on ebay for them but avoid the sub ten dollar ones, they're always crap, the last bunch I paid about 14 bucks each for have been perfectly fine--check the feedback and make sure they offer a warranty--if they do they're probably fine.
