FZ8-Good camera?

I am thinking about getting the Panasonic Lumix FZ8. I read the review of it, but I can't decide if I should get the Canon Powershot A720 IS instead. I have heard problems about the FZ8 having a lot of noise, but I don't know if the A720 IS is better. I like the FZ8 because of the long zoom, and the raw image capability, but I would be willing to give those up if the noise in the A720 IS is better.
Also, I saw a FZ8 at Amazon.com that was an open box for a lot less than the new item, but it comes with no software CD. Is there any place to get a software CD seperate from the camera?

The sensors are the same size with the canon having more mp so the noise or NR will be very similar.........if you want an ultrazoom get the FZ 8 and do not look back.
