So I have been using fuji about a year now and I have a V10 and an s700. I love the super CCD on the V10 and the ccd on the s700 is ok. I use to be a big canon guy until I but the Fuji V10 for my gf. Well needless to say I have been wnating to go to an DSLR now but I rally can’t find one that I like that much. I like the fuji s9100 and s6500fd (yes I know they are not D-Slr’s) but I just don’t have the punch I am looking for in a digital SLR. So this is what I was thinking for a camera from fiji that could meet the needs of us that want to have the performance of a digital slr with a Super CCD and keep it in fuji name...

Price: $800
Mega Pixals: 6
Sensor size: 22.2 x 14.8 mm Super CCD (non- Fujifilm SuperCCD SR Pro)
ISO: 3200 (*or 1600)
Shutter speed: 30sec to 1/4000
Continues shoot speed: 2.5 fps (*or 3fps)
Body still: similar to Nikon d40
Battery: 4AA
Fix Lens: 18mm to 200mm (*or28mm to 280mm) with O.I.S.

*is ment for what the other camera could be like at that price point.

Now before any of you get bent out of shape about the fix lens keep in mind that this is ment to be a beginner camera with fuji engineering. The reason I believe it would be better to go with a fix lens if that nature is because it open fuji up to sell acc. for that such as lens converters and external flashes and so one. Keep in mind this does not shoot video this camera is ment to have an D-SLR type feel to it as well as a performance and functionality aspect too.

So do you guys ever think that fuji would ever do such a thing and do you think it would be a good idea. Tell me all what you think because I thinking about e-mailing fuji on this.

Hmm...I don't know. My Fuji S9100 has the look and feel of a dslr and can use filters and an optional lens attachment. According to the camera pros that I've talked with the quality on the S9100 is equal to a beginning to mid-level dslr. The main difference appears to be the fixed lens. I'm getting decent shots with the CCD/Raw formats, it has a continuous shooting mode, etc and an ISO range of 80-1600.
