I have a Kodak P712. I've had it less than a year. I dropped it last night on the hardwood floor. It was on at the time and the lens extended out. After dropping it, the screen when blank white. It would not turn off or do anything. I took the battery out, screen went black. Now, nothing. I tried a fresh battery.

So my question is this. Do you think it is repairable and worth repairing? Kodak online said it would cost more than $200 to repair. I can probably replace it for not much more than that. I'm planning on taking it to a local camera shop, but wanted some of your opinions first.

And if there is some magic button that I can push to fix it, I'd like to know.:)

Thanks

Sure, the "redo" button. If you find it let me know where it is in case I drop my camera. I would say that it's not usually worth it to fix broken cameras (unless it's a really expensive camera). However, it won't hurt to see what the camera repair shop has to say.

Yeah, I keep looking for a little red "reset" button like my dvr has.
Haven't found it yet.

Thanks for your reply.

Hmm. Not that I have anything against Kodak per se, but there are usually better options out there these days - it may be time to upgrade to something nicer.
