I've only had it fo a few months...

I slipped and fell and slid down a waterfall, whole body, camera and all got dunked. I took it apart, placed it in dry box for a couple of weeks. Also cleaned the lens elements (ones I could get at), then reassembled it, keeping my fingers crossed... but no go. Just am glad and thankful I wasn't seriously hurt or anything. Was going to get the S8000fd as a replacement but looking at the sameple photos, I'm gonna pass on that. My F10 will fill the void till the next cam comes along, which mostly likely will be a real digital SLR.

These were some of its last pics...

Bummers. That reminds me of the stories about people looking through the viewfinder at such locations as the Grand Canyon, and walking just a few steps closer...

Nice photos, though.

Sorry about your loss, at least you showed why a great digital camera beats film
hands down, you would not have been able to save your pics as film would have been damaged also, all you had to do was dry off your memory card.

I'm just glad you are not badly hurt. Sorry about the camera... but you can buy another S6000fd or a DSLR.

I think it was meant to be, from the looks of your shots you'll be a standout with a DSLR :D

No kidding, your shots were great. I'm looking for a very waterproof camera case, anyone have any ideas for a good one?

Thanks guys, I'm most likely going to get an Olympus E510 next. I can also reuse my XD card on that. :D
