Okay, so I bought a 2 gig xD card today, and I noticed on the back of the package it says that "This card may cause interruption of movie recording with some FujiFilm camera models. These models include ...., ...., S5200, S7000, ..., ..."

So my question is has anyone experienced an interruption with the S6000fd while recording a movie using a Type M card? Do the Type H cards exhibit the same issue? Granted, I don't think I'll be holding my camera steady for 30 minutes, but I never experienced this with my Olympus 512MB (no type specified on the card) card, and I recorded about 5 or 6 minute clips with it. I'd hate to be in the middle of something special and have the camera/card just stop recording.

Any help or insight into this would be most appreciated!

David

I have a 2 gig M and have had no problems in movie mode.

Good to hear from one of the most well known contributers in the Fuji forum! As myself and everyone else knows, you do take a lot of great pictures, but how often do you shoot video, and how long usually do you record?

Also, anyone else care to comment on the Type M cards in movie mode?

I have S6500fd and Kingston 2 GB M card. the movies are ok, except the sound, instead of clear sound there is only noise. But its probably a broken microphone in this camera, not the card issue.

Thanks for replying blue!

I just tried setting my camera in movie record mode and put it on a tripod. It said it had 29 minutes and some-odd number of seconds of recording time in 640x480 mode with nothing on the card. I hit record and walked away. It successfully recorded 28 minutes and 53 seconds of video without any issues I could see (I didn't watch the whole video, but played it in 2x and 4x speed). Granted this wasn't a great test since it wasn't being zoomed in and out and having to refocus on different objects, but I think that it will work just fine for my purposes.

I'm getting ready to head out east on Tuesday to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park for a week or so, and I should have some GREAT pictures of the autumn colors to post when I get back home. I'll put them in the Fuji S6000 pictures thread so everyone can see them.

Thanks to everyone, and if anyone has something else to contribute, please do so!
