E-500 Picture Issue

Hello everyone,

I have an E-500 and use an Olympus XD card. I have been noticing lately a red vertical line down the left side of my pictures. It is very faint and only comes for a few photos every 40-50 of them. Any idea if this is a camera issue or card issue? I will attach a picture as a sample. Thanks in advance.

There is no way that a card issue would cause consistent, recurring problems in photos of such a specific nature. Since every photo file is a different size it is virtually impossible that a card defect would occur in the same relative bytes of different files.

A vertical or horizontal line most likely indictes a fatal CCD problem. It could be a bad connection between the CCD and the PCB board, but it is a camera problem for sure.

Thanks for the help! I will take my camera to the shop and see what needs to be done. Kinda figured it was a far shot as a card issue...
