Hi, have you anybody experienced this type of error?
I'm proud owner of Canon S45 for almost 2 years. But suddenly, without any cause, it started to playback photos with error. Firstly, there were old photos on CF (already downloaded to PC, so they were ok). But after a couple of months camera started to dipslay them from CF with error (pixels on bottom). Nothing was done to these photos on CF, no editing,... WHen I shot new photos, in first seconds they were displayed correctly, but after second-third playback, again pixels on bottom of the photo. When I was displaying them through thumbnails, they were looking perfect, but return back to one photo on LCD - again the same error. Even zooming was showing that error. I have reformat CFs, I used different CF, I exchanged batteries, withdrew batteries for one week, but nothing helped. Always a couple of new photos were ok and then pixels. Later whole photos were just colorful pixels and downloading them to PC, the system said "unknown format". Recording video shot ended the same way. During playback the picture part just freeze with pixels, but sound was playing ok.
I asked firstly at authorised service and they told me - bad chip or sensor. But I think that taking photos is ok, only displaying them is problem and it seems to me more driver or sw problem than hw. Any advice?
