What are some of the basic or common settings for the different scene modes.

What im trying to do is get a better image from my copter camera. I have a few smaller pocket cameras that im wanting to bolt to my R/C helicopter and buzz it up using the timmer mode and snap a few pics of my house and a few friends. Im not having the best luck though. I know the reason is because of vibration im getting that worked out but now the camera seems to want to vocus on the first shot taken.

Im wondering if i use landscape mode if it will set the camera to infinity?

I think what im wanting is an infinity focus, and a large apature setting so the shutter will auto to the fastest speed it can go. I can set the ISO and the exsposure value but cant control the apature or shutter.

I found out that portrait mode uses a large apature to try and get that DOF thing but im not sure about the other scene modes what it trys to do in the other modes

Canon A540 and Nikon cool pix S2

Depending on lighting, exif info will vary; giving you specific settings would be pointless without understanding the available light.

Up the ISO, close down the aperture to f/8, and hope the shutter speeds stays up.
P&S cameras already have a huge advantage when the user wants to maximize depth of field.
Typically, as it has been my experience, the Landscape mode does set focus to infinity.

The A540 doesn't have Av [A], Tv [S], or M?

Yeah it does that shot was taken with the A540 but the Nikon S2 is smaller and lighter. It also has an "interval" mode where it can shoot a shot every 30 seconds till i stop it
