I am looking for a good camera for basic pictures. Mostly kids and some vacations. These are the fron runners. Not sure how much clrearity I will be losing with a 4 MP over a 5 MP. I am open to comments on there cameras or if you think a different camera would be better please let me know!

Those 2 cameras are VERY different... One is an ultra-zoom, while the other is a "normal" zoom. You need to really specify what you plan to do if you want to be advised properly...

With that being said, there is no different in clarity between 4 and 5mp, it depends on the cameras. Also, it depends on the size you will print, up to at least 8x10, the difference will be futile.

I am planning on just using the camera to take family pictures and pictures on vacations. Wont be doing much cropping I dont believe. I will be taking pics at air shows though.

The C770UZ.

I own one. Knows what it can and cannot do, but trust me it is a small compact camera that takes good pictures with 10X zoom.

For airshows, you'll probably need to use some tricks to lock focus as fast moving objects are not its strong points. I find that using MF helps as well as the Focus Lock setting. Have to read the manual for this one.

Only 1 small matter before you jump in. xDs are a bit more expensive than SDs or CFs, so factor that in.

Other cameras to consider, Panasonic FZs, better lens, but they are big.
