When I set the camera to the "video" mode, set it down in place to record myself, and start recording, the camera stops recording after exactly 1 minute every time even though there's around 5 minutes of recording memory left. extrememly frustrating. Any suggestions?

The camera may have a hard limit on video length, or your memory card may only be fast enough to handle 1 minute of buffering, or your are in 60fps mode which is limited to 60 seconds. Do you have the model number correct? I can't find the A450 listed. Do you mean the A540?

Ohh shoot, sorry, yes indeed its the A540.
I'm sorry I'm quite the beginner....how would I go about checking to see if it was in the "60fps mode?"

In the menus, go to movie mode. There are options for setting the size of the movie (640x480, 320x240) and the frame rate (60fps, 30fps, 15fps). Check your users manual for "Fast Frame Rate", I forget the exact steps to set that option.
