But let me buy my PANASONIC DMC-FZ30 with a clear conscience:

Camera Clash: Digital SLR (Canon EOS-20D) vs All-in-One (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30)

A Real Leica Lens
One of the key selling points for the Lumix DMC-FZ30 is that it has a real Leica DC lens and not simply a "Leica-branded" lens that's a result of collaborative marketing. This statement may cause a lot of consternation among photographers and Leicaphiles.
Clearly, anyone who thinks that the Leica DC 7.4-88.8 mm f/2.8-3.7 VARIO-ELMARIT lens on the Lumix DMC-FZ30 comes close to the Leica 400mm f/4.0 APO-TELYT-R lens which goes for $8500 used is deluding themselves.
Nevertheless, the Leica lenses in the Lumix line-up are unequivocally using real Leica technology.

All of the Leica lenses used in the Lumix line-up use identical multi-coating to that found in the M- and R-mount Leica lenses.
In comparison, most of the Carl Zeiss lenses used in Sony digital products do not use the famed T* coating.
Since the Panasonic Lumix cameras use Leica's multi-coating, it is in fact a real Leica lens.

A very good comparison of the two and an equally good read.

The black body FZ30 quickly became a "classic" among Panasonic FZ (Floozie/"Fuzzy") shooters and accounts for the near cult yearning among many of them to own a black body FZ30 over a sliver body FZ30, both of which, though old technology-still gather premium prices on eBay.

Really ? i think it's just a boring, monotonous load of drivvel that you post ad nauseum.

Your intentions are clear in your title.
"ARGUMENT"

We all love the FZ series here, so who's arguing?

Are yo so bored that you have to do this? Create discord?

Isn't photography enough of a hobby to occupy your time?

Even according to the author of your comparison, there is no real argument. The first line in his conclusion states:

"The winner of this battle was known before I even shot a single frame."

Only a completely wet-behind-the-ears newcomer would really debate whether a DSLR or superzoom is "better". They're completely different, and appeal to different user bases. There is no "shootout".

Oh, wonderful, the Panasonic has a Leica lens. In the world of brand-fanboyism which a certain few folks inhabit, that's enough right there! Why go on?

So I didn't read the review but I glanced over it.

Was this guy comparing the very "best" supper zoom lens with the canon kit lens? hehe. should have put the canon 85mm 1.2 on the 20D and then compared. :D

I agree completely different cameras designed for different uses. Why would you want to compare them?

It's like having a shootout with a dodge Viper and a Subaru outback.
