When you put any 200mm f/2.8 lens on an APS-C sensor camera... because of the digital cropping factor, you effectively have a 300mm or 320mm f/2.8 shot. That's a pretty cheap upgrade. What are you looking for?

Now, putting any 300mm f/2.8 lens on an APS-C sensor ... drives it effectively to a 450mm or 480mm f/2.8 shot. That's a pretty good jump, too.

Are you truly looking for a 300mm-film style shot ... or what a 300mm lens does on a small APS-C sensor shot?

KEH.com may have a 300mm f4 or similar used lens. I got a Pentax 300/4 for $99.99 in "ugly" condtion, though returned it due to "red halo" and front focus issues. Also, it was an "M" lens, which limits metering options, and it required about 270 degrees of rotation from near to far - about 3 twists with the wrist.

A Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6 Macro DG APO goes for about $219, and is OK for a budget lens.

Better IQ or performance drives the cost up quickly from there.

you asked the exact same question in your other thread.

Starting multiple threads doesn't get you more advice, it just pisses people off. It's pretty standard forum etiquette to only post things once.
