I dropped my Pentax Optio A10 at my grandson's birthday party. Foolishly I did not have the strap around my arm although 10 two-year-olds were running around the room. Anyway, the lense was extended at the time. The camera now will neither stay-on nor retract the lense.
Luckily, I did have a memory card... so, my photos are safe. This is my first digital camera (Christmas gift from my husband). I am just an amateur photographer, but have used my "film" Pentax/with all the lenses for about 22 years. But, I have really fell in love with the digital and the program he gave me to edit my own shots. Had hoped to go to a better model with removeable lenses in a year or so.
WELL, THE BIG QUESTION IS....ARE THERE ANY TROUBLE SHOoT MOVES I CAN MAKE ON THE CAMERA TO SEE IF IT WILL RETRACK THE LENSE. I AM AFRAID I SEE A BROKEN COPPER WIRE AND POSSIBLY A CRACKED LENSE. BUT, IT IS VERY HAD TO KNOW FOR SURE SINCE IT WILL NOT STAY ON.
Any responses are greatly appreciated.

ALSO, WHAT DO REPAIRS USUALLY RUN (MINIMUM CHARGE) IF KNOWN?
