I just bought the Kodak z712. I'm still online trying to figure out if I can use my AA rechargable batteries from my recently destroyed camera, or if I have to cave and buy the rather expensive Kodak battery.

From other reviews and chat boards users, I am getting the feeling that using my existing AA rechargables will be perfectly OK. However, I was told by a Cuircut City employee that if not careful, some regular rechargable AA batteries could, over time, damage the camera. When I asked how that was possible, he said the research is still pretty new on it and he was not sure other than that he thought it had to do with certain battery material??

Is he just feeding me balogna, or has anyone heard anything remotely similar?

Any NiMH batteries will work fine with your camera. They won't damage it in any way.
