Took a lunchtime walk around the dock area in Hobart to enjoy the sunshine today. Here are just a couple.

Nice shots!

Were you using any filters or did any post-processing in photos #2 and #4, to get the clouds out?

BTW, I like the way you "framed" your photos with a black border around it. Are you using Lightroom for this or following some guide for Photoshop?

Hi there,

The frames are done in photoshop using a guide from Scott Kelby's book Photoshop for digital photographers.

The only PP done on these were a slight sharpen.

I picked up a 40D with 17-85 IS USM lens to play with for a couple of days.

I like the 1st photo, yet I do not like it. it is odd... I think I like the bottom part, but the top part is disturbing in its lines, maybe because the top of the building runs parallel to the edge of the frame.

The 2nd is underexposed... it may work for the ky, but i do like to see a well exposed subject too.

The last photo is very nice.

Thanks Coldrain,

I think I know what you mean on the first one, it isnt the norm (which can be good every now and then). I will go back and have a look at No. 2 as it looked pretty right on my monitor.

thanks for sharing, i like them though i don't get 3. what is the significance of those subjects? obviously, i'm not living there so i have no clue which building(s) is important.

Fantastic results Dave. I should start taking my camera to work, lol.

I nearly got that exact 3rd shot when I was in Hobart on holdiays this time last year, only it was at night! Will email it to you. Great minds :p
