does anyone know why sometimes the camera does not respond to my pressing the shutter button? i hold the button half way down and sometimes i don't hear that click (AF sound?) and then when i press all the way down, it doesn't take. is this just because things aren't in focus? but what if i want a picture out of focus... it just seems silly that i can't take whatever pictures i want at any time that i want. maybe i'm just doing something wrong
thanks for any insights

they might not be taking cause you filled your buffer.

When the camera is not in IA servo, or set to manual focus, you do need to have a focus lock in order to make a photo. A focus lock gives a beep, not a click...

Like coldrain said, you can take as many out of focus pictures as you want if you use manual focus. With auto focus, you're telling the camera "I want you to focus for me, and I want you to get it right".

Does the information bar in the viewfinder say "busy?" It's probably trying to focus. Coldrain is correct.

Yeah, sometimes I get this, and then realize that I did not switch back from "timer/remote" mode after I had used it.
